Design Brief & Solution

The client brief was to create a stunning and contemporary kitchen space with clean lines and symmetry, giving a sense of fluidity within the whole home.
Onyx Grey door finishes were chosen to add a sense of calm and elegance and to work in harmony with the neutral tones and woodgrains in the wider space. The ultra matt laminate anti-fingerprint door finish gives a contemporary look and tactile appeal, while at the same time providing an easy clean surface ideal for a busy kitchen.
There was a requirement to design the kitchen space to allow two people to pass easily and allow the whole family to cook together. This was achieved by purposely locating the island slightly out of the kitchen area, and so it became more integrated into the living space, and by maintaining simple design lines including aligning the height of the tall units to the window height to allow that sight line to flow through.
Generous storage includes deep, compartmentalized drawers which allow the client to organize their chef’s knives, cutlery, utensils, pans and crockery and other everyday kitchen items out of sight, maintaining the streamlined look.
